Let’s go over the raw stats
The IdeaPad Flex 5i is Lenovo’s Intel version of its budget-friendly 2-in-1 laptop, starting at a price of between $550 and $750. Lenovo’s website doesn’t give too much information on the price of this laptop, making it seem like it’s on sale with an arbitrary “market value” with a slash, so I’m going to go with the cheapest option for this laptop.
Now, let’s talk about its form
factor
The IdeaPad Flex 5i has a fairly standard but still impressive form factor for its price It’s a 2-in-1 laptop, meaning it can fold its keyboard back to turn it into a tablet Although with its great size, that might be a heavier tablet than we’re used to Because it has a 14-inch display with a great resolution that’s also IPS, so great stuff.
But, it does come with an Intel Core i3 and 8 gigabytes of RAM, which, nowadays, might not be enough for everyone So if you want a better or more “future-proof” version of this laptop, or one that’ll last multiple years, I'd recommend checking out the upgraded versions of this 2-in-1, which come with better processors.
So, yeah, the internal specs are not really amazing But given the price, I can’t really complain And now for storage. Lenovo does it again 512 gigabytes, which is actually amazing It’s nearly a dollar per gigabyte with this laptop, which is absolutely reasonable especially when compared to the more premium laptops, which have a terrible gigabyte-to -dollar ratio So, well done, Lenovo. Proud of you And lastly, the laptop runs Windows 11.
Let’s get on to my verdict...So, who is this laptop for?
Well, not for everyone. That’s for sure, The price does make it extremely attractive for the budget-minded folks And its form factor is amazing, being able to be used as a somewhat tablet when needed to, which is great But, there are a few things that I want you to consider as common complaints that I’ve heard about for this laptop Number 1, its hinge A lot people have complained that it’s very easy to break on accident, which can be a bit of an issue Now others have said that, if you are gentle with this laptop, you won’t have an issue But, keep that in mind; it may be a little fragile And number 2, brightness Again, it’s not the worst; but, it’s something to take into consideration It won’t be amazing to use on a sunny day for instance And number 3, the performance Look, at this price, you shouldn’t expect the greatest performance out of this laptop But, you should take note that it also can’t run everything There will be limitations with this laptop, and its RAM will limit how many programs you can run at a time So, multitasking and the sort might not be great with this device Besides those, though, it is a great laptop that’s super affordable It has a few issues, sure. But what laptop doesn’t? But with that said, Lenovo, if you’re watching, please fix your website; it feels like it hasn’t been updated in years Heh, but bringing it back to who this laptop is best for… I would recommend the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i for the budget-minded folks and students who won’t run too intense of programs And who just want a 2-in-1 laptop that works And that was the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i.
